[Updated] From the good folks in Dane County trying to prevent Enbridge tar sand pipeline oil spills in Wisconsin despite recent legislative, special-interest chicanery comes this notice:
CALL TO ACTION!
DANE CO. ZONING COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY, SEPT. 8 p.m.
The Zoning Committee has agreed to hear 350 Madison’s petition. We’re asking
the committee to pull the permit for Enbridge’s Line 61 expansion and substitute
an environmental trust fund requirement for the original insurance requirement
the GOP legislature nullified in July. Let’s show the committee that
widespread community concern remains. Please join us! RSVP here.
WHEN: Tuesday, September 8, 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: City-County Bldg., Rm. 354, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison

No one can ever clean up an oil spill, so to say "it took years" to clean up the KALAMAZOO RIVER is misleading, imho.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to 350Madison for requesting that Dane County supervisors consider either revoking the pipeline/pumping station permit (because: threat to water, soil, etc.) or requiring that an environmental trust fund be deposited in escrow.
Because: Enbridge oil spillS.
Thanks to 350Madison
