The Blowhard Egomanic Donald Trump is a savvy, self-promoting TV performer, so will dominate the upcoming GOP TV debates which, after all, are entertainment television productions first and political news opportunities second.
The GOP cannot possibly bar this man who embodies the party's private-sector mantra and 'values' from the debate stage.
Even though the party loves its fat cats, it prefers them as donors, not wild-card candidates who behave like CEO's and make their own rules.
See how timid the other GOP hopefuls remain around Trump: Walker hasn't attacked Trump's disgraceful remarks about Mexicans, and took $10,000 from Trump last year.
Irony, sweet irony, one after another.
And the more he talk and preens - - watch in full his interview with NBC's Katy Tur, here - - the more that moderate voters will flee the party which has so willingly tolerated and used him for so many years.

I dunno. The GOPers seem to tolerate these extremists rather well.

ReplyDeleteABSTRACT: A social, economic, political and cultural wave of violent transformation emanating largely from Latin American countries and resulting from the illegal narcotics trade – what I have coined the Narcorrevolución™ – is rapidly spreading across Western Industrialized nations. The United States, with its own growing Hispanic community, each and every day more socially, politically and economically influential; the European Union, with Spain as the main gateway to the rest of Europe; and the countries of West Africa through Guinea-Bissau, officially recognized as under the control of Latin American narco-cartels and therefore a threat to the rest of the continent, all are experiencing the early stages of a process of massive state collapse. We are therefore facing perhaps the greatest global threat to the political stability, economic prosperity and safety and security of the First World – and America in it – since the beginning of the Modern Era. The present document briefly introduces the nature of the Narcorrevolución, its origins and causes, and references potential solutions.

Just more proof that when you throw a turd in the punchbowl, it floats.
ReplyDeleteAnd Trump is too politically dumb to see that the only people supporting him or will ever support him and his outlandish remarks is the far right. No one, as of yet, has ever won an office with only the support of the far right, far left, or outer space votes for that matter. Trump is nothing more than a bloviating fool.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the media attention is focused on Trump rather than Walker. I am sure that Walker will claw his way back into lime-light as soon as he can hit upon some outrageous policy for Wisconsin. But for now I am glad that the bald spot is being ignored.
ReplyDeleteI am not so sure he will get back into the limelight any time soon because Fox News is running the first debate and it will be based on national surveys for the top candidates to be on the debate stage. They are saying that candidates need to go national right now to have a chance, but yet some are still sticking with Iowa, NH, and SC. That might keep them out of the debates entirely. Walker is going straight to Iowa after Monday's announcement, so I wouldn't be so sure he will be back near the top any time soon. Of course so long as he panders to the far-right he will probably have a good showing, but that won't hold for the general election where he would have to go moderate. Then he'll piss off the far-right and may have still lost some of the moderates as well because they won't trust him to stay moderate. He goes where the wind blows him. You cannot ever trust someone like that. They will kiss you then turn around and stab you in the back. Metaphorically of course.
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit, a whole lot of people are saying that this guy says how they feel. That's why his pole numbers surged.
