WEDC sets state record for shameless, self-serving spin

I've been in and around government at several levels for more than 40 years,  and I have never seen a more intellectually shameful op-ed.

Ever. It's not public relations. It's taxpayer-paid propaganda.
WEDC takes bold approach to economic development
For a wee bit of balance.

  1. Reed Hall's Op-Ed praising his own agency says, "WEDC consistently follows state statutes and its own policies."

Pity the independent audit which came out beforehand didn't agree. Had Mr. Hall not read it, or any of the news coverage of it? E.g.:

"A blistering audit released Wednesday said Republican Gov. Scott Walker's premier job creation agency repeatedly broke state law...."

  2. You are so right. That is a shameless op-ed. They definitely know how to make themselves look good in their own eyes. Too bad it is all a bunch of gibberish. I also take offense to the idea that "may" and "shall" mean the same thing. They do not and never have meant the same thing in legal terms.

I hope Mr. Hall didn't use taxpayer money to write this self-serving, ludicrous spin.

Hey Reed- You boast of lowering the delinquency rate and outstanding collections due.Care to share the methods you used? Pretty sure another article said you wrote off most of them, forgave some and renegotiated others.Would not say those are good things to brag of.

You're so responsive to business that you make loans & then forget to ask for repayment? Now, years later the same mistakes are being made again & again. If you worked at a bank & pulled these shenanigans, you would be in federal prison... instead you have Governor Walker's protection & plans to expand your role. WI gets what WI votes for.
