About Walker's war-mongering Tweet

You may have been wondering why Walker, without any apparent context, turned his Wisconsin-taxpayer-paid 'trade mission' to Germany into a Twitter platform for "lethal" aid to Ukraine.

When President Obama urged Walker the other day to "bone up" on foreign policy, he meant hit the books, not shoulder your weapon.

I figure it might have happened something like this:

Walker, in Germany, to host country press aide: So do you have my side trip to the Berlin Wall all set up? I want to stand exactly where Ronald Reagan did when tore down that wall.

Aide: Sir, the wall is gone, and your President didn't tear it down.

Walker: That's not the way I heard it.

Aide: The wall is gone. The people and the government removed it.

Walker: Dang it. Well, I'm thinking of putting out a statement, maybe on Twitter, in Reagan's honor.

Aide: Fine.

Walker: How about this one? (Reads from a smart phone). Mr. Putin, tear down this wall.

Aide: Sir, What wall are you talking about?

Walker: The one he built around the Creamora.

Aide: I believe you mean the Crimea, and there is no wall.

Walker: Again, no wall? Dang it.

Aide: Putin simply annexed it, militarily.

Walker. Well, wait a minute, (edits his Tweet), well, how about this then?
It's time to provide lethal military help to Ukraine so they can defend themselves against Russian aggression.
Aide: If I may say, sir, that's pretty hostile, coming from an American Governor.

Walker: not for long.

  1. Walker is such an ignorant tool, which makes him dangerous. He's got the media behind him, so anything is possible.

Amazing that anyone is foolish enough to take seriously a man that tweets about "lethal military help"

Thanks corporate media for catapulting this highly-compromised corporatist to the top of the heap.

  2. "It's time to provide lethal military help to Ukraine so they can defend themselves against Russian aggression."
Maybe he can start by asking Appleton, Madison and Door County to donate their military-surplus tanks, or if not, then explain why they're needed in his Midwestern-nice state.

  3. And may we remind you that he also told Wall Street oligarchs at the 21 Club that he would cut income and capital gains taxes for the rich.

Some inquiring mind want to ask what Mr. "I won't take stimulus due to debt" is going to cut to keep the deficit at the low amount it's at today.

  4. Is it just me or is Walker calling for the United States to provide "lethal military help... against Russian aggression" an incredibly reckless, irresponsible thing to say?

"Lethal" means killing, and he means Russians, so this is very provocative. What precisely does he mean by "lethal military help"? The wording strongly implies US military involvement, so is he suggesting US air strikes or ground troops?

No doubt the words were carefully chosen for effect, while leaving coy Scott his trademark wiggle room to deny that's what he meant.
