[Updated] Should Jefferson County DA Susan Happ has won - - and no offense to Jon Richards and Ismael Ozanne, the other fine Democratic candidates, as the trends are were with her and I can see the upside already:
She's a fresh face from a rural county, and a seasoned campaigner - - friends who got to her events said she was "dynamite " - - who will be on equal law enforcement office-holding footing with the GOP nominee who is the Waukesha County DA.
Walker has dissed women throughout his tenure. Let Burke and Happ take advantage in an election year that is looking good for Wisconsin women candidates.

Two women on the ticket will help lift the Dems. Happ's message was all about leading the fight against the Republican war on women. She'll start out broke in the morning, and her opponent has a half million dollars. Hope the Dems dig deep and help her pull it off in November.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Dem and the only times I heard about Happ was when Kathleen Falk sent out supporting e-mails. Don't you think that a big part of her win was GOPers crossing over to vote for the weakest Dem candidate?
ReplyDeleteNo way. Happ won big everywhere. Ozanne was by far the weakest candidate, and Happ basically cancels out a whole lot of GOP angles they would have done on Richards.
DeleteI was a Richards backer, but this is a big boost for the Dems, given how convincing Happ's win was. And contrast her with GOP ogres like Grothmann and crooks like Walker and Schimel in November
She got a HUGE number of votes. I don't think so.
ReplyDelete. . . the same GOP crossovers voting for Clark over Moews and giving Gary George that whopping 30%?
ReplyDeleteAwfully sexist there xoff.
ReplyDeleteWar on men in the party?
Burke's bid is over now that John Lehmann, 70 year old WEAC supported candidate is the running mate with Burke as the LG. There's no way this ticket is going to motivate anyone to get off their couch and vote in a non-presidential election year.
ReplyDeleteNice try, troll. Who votes based on A-G? Unless the Guv plans in leaving before the term is up (hint: this hurts your boys in WisGOP, not helps)
DeleteThe desperation by the GOP operatives and trolls is obvious. Last nught's results boosted Burke's chances
Lt. Gov. candidates do not a ticket make.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that should read "who votes based on Lt. Gov"?
ReplyDeleteWhat's doubly awesome is that the GOPs have to put Blinky Kleefisch front and center, and they'll lose voters every time they do
Let's see how many photo op's happen with Lehmann and Burke.
ReplyDeleteBet the R's will create a few.
