PR Blunder: GOP Guarantees 2016 Attention To Ohio Vote Suppression Schemes

Updated 12:55 a.m. Wwdnesday, from 5:36 p.m. Tuesday.] Self-inflicted wounds don't come much bigger, and this one is the handiwork of RNC chairman and Wisconsin politio Reince Priebus.

Cleveland, Ohio is the perfect place to host the National Republican Party convention in 2016, since Cleveland was ground zero for blatantly racially-motivated GOP 2012 voter suppression tactics that continue today

Including a so-called grassroots initiative to mandate Voter ID:
Ohio Republicans have already imposed a slew of voting restrictions in the nation’s most pivotal swing state. But now, they may be gearing up for a renewed push on the most contentious tactic of all: voter ID.
The Ohio Christian Alliance (OHA), a conservative group, said last week they’re launching a campaign aimed at getting a voter ID measure passed, either by the legislature or by voters themselves.
Come convention time, and after these efforts have been enjoined and ruled illegal in the courts, I foresee guided tours for media across Greater Cleveland to 'scene-of-the-crime' polling places, and interviews with disenfranchised, frustrated voters.

It will also be fun watching GOP delegates find their way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to see and hear some of that new-fangled music the kids are listening to these days.

  2. How about a behind-the-scenes peek at GOP voting machine manipulation, the kind seen in the 2004 election? Could be hilarious with a wax figure of Ken/t ? Blackwell, (Ohio's Secretary of State at the time, and serving a dual role as head of the state committee to re-elect Bush) saying "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. . . . " as a curtain is shakily drawn back, revealing a young computer geek moving columns of votes from D to R.

The real issue and danger with election integrity is not voter fraud, but election fraud. Pay attention people.

  7. It's not voter fraud if the voters are abiding by the rules.

The rules may be stupid, but I have seen no one other than the sore loser alleging that anyone broke any of the election laws.
