Note the statements in opposition which I have italicized below from the op-ed, and while a Senator can speak with impunity on the Senate floor, shouldn't there be tougher fact-checking when the Senator is speaking in the state's largest newspaper?
Although no one can say with certainty, I firmly believe a relatively small contingent of armed military guards would have prevented the attack, and those four lives would not have been lost.
The outrageous act of omission during the attack was that no additional defensive or offensive military assets were immediately dispatched to help the endangered personnel in Benghazi. Although it is true that no intervention to save the lives of Ambassador Christopher Stevens or diplomat Sean Smith was possible, I do not believe the same can be said with certainty concerning U.S. personnel Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, who also were killed that night.
No one could know with certainty that the survivors would be able to get to the airport and be safely evacuated within 12 hours. What if they had encountered resistance en route to the airport?
What about the fact that Republicans voted down the line to refuse/block funding for more security in Benqhazi? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofXKLWW3SyI
ReplyDeleteEver watch Mike Gousha? He lets any wingnut spew whatever lie they want on his show without any corrections. The sad state of the news and journalism is very dangerous to the well being of this country.
ReplyDeleteNo one talks about the disregarded intel prior to 911. Or the disreputable intel that led us into the Iraq war.
ReplyDeleteWhen you look at the number of people who died in those two items alone, I ask, "Where's the outrage Fox news?"
And noted-as anon may 6, 7:08 said, Where is coverage of the blocked funding for more security?
Hypocracy reigns freely these days, doesn't it?
So RoJo "firmly believes" --with all his pea-pickin' heart-- that a "relatively small contingent of armed military guards would have prevented the attack, and those four lives would not have been lost."
ReplyDeleteLet's check a few of RoJo's other "firm beliefs":

HIS daughter needed open-heart surgery that was well-provided for by his insurance, but YOUR children don't deserve insurance or healthcare because he doesn't like Obama and Obamacare.
His lawsuit against Obamacare won't cost the taxpayers anything.
But victims of predatory pedophile priests shouldn't be allowed to sue the Catholic Church because it will open up corporations to frivolous lawsuits.
He's never taken a government handout or received any kind of assistance from the federal government.
Even a plastics manufacturer can be a state Senator.
Paddy Mac is a brilliant PR strategist.
Tammy Baldwin needs "schooling" in the federal budget.
