Walker Shows Support For Separation Of Powers

In a burst of transparency, Walker asks the State Supreme Court to not separate himself from his powers.
Gov. Scott Walker's campaign Thursday asked the state Supreme Court to take over a case from the Court of Appeals to determine whether prosecutors had the ability to subpoena documents as part of their secret investigation.
The filing is the latest in the legal maneuvers surrounding a long-running John Doe investigation into campaign fundraising and spending in recall elections. In the highest profile contest, Walker won his June 2012 race to become the first governor in America to survive a recall election.

  1. This might be a good opportunity for the prosecutors to demonstrate that the current John Doe is based upon evidence of criminal wrong-doing uncovered during the first investigation, by entering into evidence a ton of yet to be released emails.

Will the Supreme Court deny prosecutors the right to submit evidence or will they decide to hold a secret trial? Pick your poison.

Failing that, the DA could just decide to satisfy outstanding open records requests and dump everything. I understand the Guv just loves himself some transparency.

  2. I like your thinking Gareth. Trying for the perfect, complete pile of evidence is taking too long. Time to take a page out of Biskupic's book and have these prosecutors "drop a bomb" of their own. It beats having to buy a guillotine
