A lot of institutional memory, wise pragmatism and common sense - -
94 years' worth - - went out of the Wisconsin State Senator chamber when retiring Democratic State Senators Bob Jauch, Tim Cullen, John Lehman and Republican Dale Schultz finished their last session's final floor debate today. The Senate could turn even farther right after November. Heaven help us.
Or the madness could be stopped, and slime such as ALEC Vukmir, Mike Ellis, Joe Leibham, Scott Fitzgerald, Neal Kedzie, Terry Moulton, and Frank Lassee could be sent home. You know, if voters actually wanted to clean up the enablers of the disgrace that has become the Wisconsin Legislature.

It is my hope that these four will form a coalition and put out reports or news releases on bills and actions before the legislature so that the public can gain insight from these accomplished legislators as to what is in these bills and the pros and cons as they impact the people of Wisconsin. The media no longer digs into issues they merely report the talking points that politicians provide. These four could shine a light on budgets and debt facing Wisconsin AND TAX CHANGES AS TO WHOM THEY BENEFIT AND WHOM THEY HURT. What a breath of fresh air they could provide especially if the current trend of behind closed doors legislation and quick public hearings without notice or fanfare continues. They represent commonsense as it applies to Wisconsin and its people and it would be awesome if newspapers across the state along with the spoken media gave them a voice in Wisconsin. It would be a terrible waste if their expertise and experience were not used to keep us informed of the goings on in Madison at least from their perspective.
