it's more obvious for walker than christie that he knew in advance the character of the people he chose to surround him. one or two people convicted in the john doe were caught up in the caucus scandal. tim russell had already been fired from a state job for credit card misuse when walker had him oversee the veterans' funds he stole from. once their crimes were known, he issued little or no rebuke of them compared to christie; perhaps to minimize the chance they would turn state's evidence?
Just have to say, that on the national stage, under the spotlight glare of the national media, I think Walker's "awe shucks I'm just so genuine" demeanor will fail miserably.
