The GOP race is between Walker and Christie. All the others are too dumb, too wacko or too laden with Bush baggage. My money is on Walker, because that is who the Tea Party billionaires will back, and because Christie has committed the unpardonable sin of displaying in public an ability to think for himself. I would really enjoy a Walker-Hillary Presidential race -- we would have the makings of a Reagan-Mondale-sized landslide in reverse. For all his conservative tough-guy cred and all his street-smart low-animal cunning, Walker at bottom is a moron who will make a complete fool of himself on the national stage.
Like Hillary doesn't have baggage? She's a Clinton for Pete's sake! If Hillary runs the networks will break all records of profit on political ads. Like the Superbowl, people won't be watching the game, the'll watch networks TV to see the next ad.
And she'a a single payer system supporter on top of that.
As Walker's public approval ceiling continues to fluctuate in the 47% to 49% range, it has been my belief that his chance of re-election will be dictated by the overall public mood in Wisconsin. Aaron Rodgers is down and the injury-impaired Packers are beginning a downward slide into mediocrity. A long, dreary winter, following a bad Packer's season will leave the state in a foul mood. Walker is finished as Governor. The people will want a new, less divisive face in that office.
It's better for Walker to make his run for President now, leaving our stagnant economy, crumbling infrastructure, gutted public institutions and endangered environment behind, before anyone on the national scene notices the carnage.
I am now firmly in the Scotty isn't running for re-election camp. On another note, everyone seems to be forgetting Mitt Romney. He's been making an awful lot of noise recently. He's tanned, relaxed, ready and rich.
Behind Christie, Cruz and Rand Paul? That's really not a very strong top tier.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's three years out.
Plenty of time to have your flaming bag of shit stomped out on the nation's front stoop.

Agreed, Anon.... but Walker is not a wacko since when?

ReplyDeleteIf she was, I would be even more enthusiastic for her campaign.
"If she was,"
