Said the GOP Senator Tuesday:
He dismissed claims by critics that the measure is an attempt to dampen Democratic turnout. People would still be able to vote during regular business hours before an election, on election day, or by mailing in an absentee ballot, he noted.
"I know a lot of Democrat voters and they are not as simple and helpless as Democrat politicians think they are," Grothman said.Republicans these days deliberately confuse "Democrat" with Democratic."
The tactic is juvenile and revealing, as is Grothman's repeated history of contemptuous behavior.
Are you sure he went to U W? I suspected that his education was similar to Walkers....ALEC University on a Koch fellowship.
ReplyDeleteThe guv'ner he said educashun aint that important, who kin blame Grothman fer tryin to fit in.
ReplyDeleteI always say if these stupid "Republics" want me to tune them out immediately, just say "Democrat" when democratic is the appropriate word. More than even being juvenile, it betrays them as being petty and nasty. They know what they are saying, it's all very calculated. George W was the most high-profile person to engage in this tactic, and in his case, I think he was just too stupid to know better. If it plays well to their fan base, then so be it. But it telegraphs to the rest of us what a small person the speaker is...
ReplyDeleteI think you are little hard on Grothman concerning his years in law school. From the sheer number of incompetent, ignorant, lazy and unethical Attorneys I have met over my lifetime in this state, I can safely state that practically any idiot can make it through law school -- Consumers beware. Grothman is just your average idiot who is able to call himself an Attorney and garner whatever prestige goes with the label.
ReplyDeleteHe and pals like Don Pridemore are just playing to their Washington County base... and that base is a big one out here.
ReplyDeleteGrothman got stuck on Middle School nerd, circa 7th grade, and never moved up.
