On Shutdown, Debt Limit, Johnson Joined Tea Partiers Cruz, Rand

There were 18 know-nothing "No" voters, and Russ Feingold replacement RoJo was among them.

  1. We can only hope Russ runs to reclaim his seat on 2016. How can a business man think the government defaulting and not paying its bills be a good thing? Would a private business ever do that purposefully?

  2. Rep. Sean Duffy (R WI 07) also voted no to end the shutdown.

  3. Henceforth to be known as MoRon Johnson, though he's been that for some time.

  4. Nonnie, I like to refer to him as Fantastic Plastic Johnson.

Although maybe that ascribes a bit too much utility to him.

  5. @anon 8:59,

To answer your question. Yes they would. The time would be when the intelligent ones realize that they don't have nearly enough in sales to pay their expenses and they have too many unproductive employees taking money. When that happens, the house of cards collapses and the company files bankruptcy.

This is exactly the problem we are dealing with as a country.

All they did was kick the can down the road. Sooner or later, the game will be up. Enjoy it while you can and shout "Victory!" from the hill tops.

No. It's not even closely analogous, since a business does not control it's own currency.

Beyond that, under Obama the deficit has dropped more rapidly than at any time since WWII. So even by this ridiculous standard you propose, the country is making the right responses.

    America has no debt crisis.

  7. However, the shutdown did cost the country 24 billion dollars.

$24 billion, flushed down the toilet. Not to mention knocking .6% off the GDP.

It's an interesting definition of "fiscally responsible".

I like Russ Feingold but he already lost to Senator Johnson. Can we get a new face, please? I hate to call former Senator Feingold a retread but that would be what he would appear like in a Johnson/Feingold re-match. Can't we get another democrat to run? I'd like to see Rep. Ron Kind run.
