Less sensitive GOP state legislators around here in our bigotry caucus should take notice of Mr. Obama's tone, as the Washington Post noted:
“If I were the owner of the team and I knew that there was a name of my team — even if it had a storied history — that was offending a sizable group of people, I’d think about changing it,” Obama said in an interview published by the Associated Press on Saturday. The Denver Post featured on its site a remark from the President's interview that should resonate with GOP legislators who want to use state power to make sure offensive names and logos are retained:
"I don't know whether our attachment to a particular name should override the real legitimate concerns that people have about these things," he said in the interview, which was conducted Friday at the White House.
