Talk radio morphs into "I'm furious" scream radio after the cliff vote. Worst programming ever on the state's largest AM station.
A caller responds with one of those 'we need to go to Washington and arrest some Congressmen and Federal Reserve bankers' rants.
Harris says he's angry with Republicans who voted for tax increases. "I'm eating our young," he exclaims.
Harris, now based in Tuscon, AZ, is a fill-in host who used to have his own show on WTMJ radio. Normally high-energy and high-volume, today was so loud that even Harris, towards the end, said he'd "popped-off."
Why don't these teabaggers direct their rage at folks like Walker's cousin george walker bush and other teabaggers like paul ryan?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, this crowd was too busy chanting U.S.A. U.S.A. when republicans had their way in Washington and entirely destroyed the fiscal integrity of the U.S. Government.
What a stupid response. You wouldn't know fiscal integrity if it bit you in the ass 16 trillion times.
DeleteReally, what's stupid about it? The top reasons for our deficit are the low revenues caused by 1. The Bush tax cuts 2. The Wall Street meltdown and 3. The high unemployment and low wages that have directly resulted from both, leading to more needs for public assistance.
ReplyDeletePeople who say otherwise are the ones who wouldn't know fiscal integrity if it bit them in the ass. And not surprisingly, the average TMJ-listening Bagger doesn't comprehend any of these 3 reasons- they just think the money went to those dark people in the cities.
Don't forget the credit-card wars under Bush-Cheney.
ReplyDelete@ Jake,
ReplyDeleteTaxing the wealthy 100% doesn't pay for our deficit.
The deficit is a direct result from out of control spending.
Credit card wars? Surely this is a joke, right? Blaming the deficit on individuals inability to control their own spending with a piece of plastic.
ReplyDeleteGod save the U.S.
next- and i'm sure you'd like to see this, james- they bring back jessica.
ReplyDeleteThe deficit is a direct result from out of control spending.
ReplyDeleteLousy grammar aside, the two biggest contributors to the current deficit was two unfunded wars started by Bush (which is what is meant by 'credit card wars' shorthand, as I am sure you are aware even if acting like you misunderstand seems to help your argument), and the Bush tax cuts.
The third biggest contributor is the reduction in revenue caused by the FIRE-induced economic crash.
Letting the Bush tax cuts expire and terminating the wars does as much, if not more, to reduce the deficit than any plan put forth to date INCLUDING the Simpson Bowles 'plan' OR the sequester plan.
Rayguns is the master of intentional density.
