The Senate's fiscal cliff avoidance bill includes a one-year extension of a federal energy production tax credit that spurs construction and installation of wind turbines.
Regardless of the longer-term uncertainty, the bill, in a recovering economy, will help businesses and workers who build, install and maintain green-energy wind turbines - - if the Senate's cliff bill is adopted in the House later today with the one-year credit extended.
That's good news for wind-rich states like Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota - - for cities in Wisconsin where the components are built - - and for consumers who prefer breathing cleaner air, too.
Details, here.
