More Milwaukee Talk Radio Nonsense

WTMJ-AM's Jeff Wagner cheers our drying, warming forecast.

"Bring it on," he says this afternoon.

Somehow he missed the stories about Lake Michigan's record-low levels, with resulting shoreline problems, and stories about the Mississippi River being so low that fuel and food barges may soon be docked.

Leading to layoffs and rising transportation costs.

We are in serious drought conditions.

We need snow. Right now, even if Wagner has to shovel his sidewalk.

15 comments:

  1. corporatists like wagner will never get it until:

    1. They are off the oil and gas-industries payroll.

    2. They no longer have water to flush their toilets, but be warned, even this "inconvenience" will be tolerated by wagner and the like for a remarkably long period of time.

These people are used to sitting in their warm stinky and telling the rest of us what great sandwiches it makes.

Journal Communications, even their sham "purple" online garbage is pure propaganda.

  2. The weather is always changing and has never been consistent, that’s why we try to predict what it will do next. Warmth is followed by cold, drought is followed by rain and the best we can do is deal with what we have. I am guessing that in a few years we will be complaining about high water levels.

  3. Speaking of being on the oil and gas industries payroll, is anyone going to post something on who Al Gore is selling Current TV to?

You can't make this stuff up folks.

  4. anon 4:35 -- thanks for your ignorent guesses. Why you think the rest of us should pay attention to you instead of scientific and objective factual analysis is another story.

But it is nice to know that knuckle draggers and uninformed people stop by here -- perhaps if you pull your head out of the lower regions of your body and turn off faux news and WTMJ & WISN long enough, you will eventually come to your sense.

But until then, please continue to display your reckless attitudes and self-imposed stoooooopidity.

  5. I am guessing that you have no idea whatsoever where your food comes from, or just how this country keeps you ensconced in the comfort you're used to, anon@4:35.

You just assume it will always be there. Well, guess what: a USA without the Mississipi and Great Lakes waterways is a much poorer USA, and it will hit you hard. A USA that isn't exporting cereals is a much poorer USA, and it will hit you hard.

  6. My food comes from WAL-MART and, when I read the label, can see that it comes from chemical factories and multinational corporate processing plants.

Why should I care about earth? It will rain someday so what else matters? I heard it on FAUX NEWS!

Now excuse me while I finish reading Milwaukee Journal Sentinel while I listen to Charlie Sykes on WTMJ-AM.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP! (while scratching crotch with left hand and picking nose with right).

  7. Let me guess, the silly liberals think that dry, warm weather is caused by CO2 and can be controlled by restricting what kind of Light bulb can be produced.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
You liberals are just waaaaaaaaaay toooooooo funnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyy
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
And AlGore just sold out to the government news organization of one of the largest Arab, oil producing nations.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Your liberal heads must be ready to explode
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
    Silly, silly liberals

  8. Even if the comment is OT, Al-Jazeera is not an oil company.

It was the ninth y that makes this an irrefutable argument.

  10. Too bad the 75 watt lights are not available anymore -- obviously anon at 12:26 isn't too bright and since he/she doesn't want to save money with a bulb that uses less energy, is likely to stay the dim-wit that posts stooooopid faux news/charlie sykes talking points here.

Dimwits like anon 12:26 think that steadily rising temperatures can just be solved by buying an air conditioner at walmart and that real food is extracted from machines from plastics and all kinds of hydro-carbon-based chemicals.

While I am sure anon 12:26 has access to soft toilet paper, I also know that folks like the poster above have no idea what it is used for.

An important lesson for youths that might read this blog -- please don't go through your entire life stooooopid and as a mindless corporatist.

anon 12:56 does make a good case for family planning -- please, people, don't burden yourself and society by bringing this type of trash into the world -- folks that serve no purpose other than to provide faux news another set of eyeballs and WTMJ & WISN another set of ears with not brain between them.

  11. Anyone who wants a great light bulb, fits into every incandescent fixture, provides awesome light/color rendering, and is dimmable, go to the FIRST Robotics website, find a local team, and support STEM education by buying LED lamps for your house/ business!

Payback on these lamps is similar to pigtail style CFL, there is less environmental imapact, and the color rendering is better. Plus if you buy from a FIRST team, you support high school students in Engineering and Science! It really is a win all around.

As an architect, my projects have gone over to LED lighting almost exclusively, because building owners know a deal when they see one.

I am a Mentor for a Milwaukee team, contact me by email if you want to order lamps.

  13. Al Jazeera is owned by the country of Qatar, one of the largest oil producing nations, so the weird conservative HA HA poster is correct about that. Al Gore sold out to the highest bidder.

  14. AlGore did what???
Just because AlGore sold out to one of the largest oil producing governments in the world, facilitates a news organization which is anti-American, cheated on his wife, and fudged the facts in his inconvenient film career; this in no way diminishes the fact that the climate is in crisis and we will destroy all life on earth if we don’t stop our carbon emissions immediately.

  15. Zombie,

I thank you for your volunteer work with First.

It is a great organization and the teams/kids can always use the knowledge that adults in these fields can provide.
