A Gun In The House, A Dead Girl In Her Milwaukee Home

As has been written before, guns in the home are used far less often for self-defense and for more frequently in homicides or suicides.

As in this recent Milwaukee shooting - - over a video game.
A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was charged Friday with fatally shooting his 15-year-old sister during an argument over a cellphone video game.

  1. Is there any information on where he got the gun? Being under 21, it was already illegal for him to possess the weapon, much less commit murder.

Absent those facts, it is difficult to understand what case you are trying to make.

Oh.. other than the "all guns are bad, no matter what" argument.

  2. Let me guess, the gun was obtained through the Obama fast and furious program.

  3. Those who give up liberty for security soon have neither. Do not throw away your right to defend yourself, or in the case of liberals: the rights of others to protect you, under the misguided notion that you will be safer when only the criminals will be armed. Understand the wisdom of the founding fathers who made it the law of the land that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. It is the mentally disturbed who need to be registered and confined.

  4. I'd rather be DEAD with liberty and a gun than, you know, actually honor the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that clearly refers to a "well-regulated militia".

The founding fathers intended to enshrine TREASON in our Constitution.

Now excuse me while I drink more really cheap awful beer...

    BUUUUUUUUUUUUURP!

    THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPT!!!

    Ooops, pardon the gas.

  5. It's a pretty easy link. More guns= more gun deaths.

  6. I had not seen the news that it was a fight over a video game- initial reports were that it was accidental discharge.

But, as you point out, simply more tragic addition to the overwhelming statistics that indicate a gun in the home is vastly more likely to be used in anger or in suicide than it is to be used in self defense.

  7. Remember, the shooter was not allowed to possess a firearm as he was not of legal age.

What type of law do you propose to stop someone else underage from possessing a weapon?

Enforce the current laws before you create new ones.
