File Under Failed Predictions, Fitzgerald/Fox

Among all the GOP election predictions gone awry, don't forget this early one about the goal of Act 10, in March 2011, from Big Fitz, (R-Juneau):
If we win this battle, and the money is not there under the auspices of the unions, certainly what you’re going to find is President Obama is going to have a much difficult, much more difficult time getting elected and winning the state of Wisconsin.”

  1. Perhaps you should be more accepting of Scott Fitzgerald and work with the conservative republicans to find common ground to advance the interests of our state. Your constant inflammatory rhetoric against every move the republicans make is counterproductive in bringing both parties together. It does nothing more than solidify the stereotypes both parties have of one another and poisons true bipartisan cooperation. Rather than effectively steering legislation by rational and reasoned argument you merely add fuel to the republican steamroller which is headed in your direction.

    1. Surely this comment was directed at Fitzgerald and the quote above.

Surely this person can see the divisive nature of the Fitzgerald quote.

Obviously this commentor is not rational, and does not comprehend the hypocrisy of his/her own words.

  3. There is no Republican steamroller. A steamroller implies progress and movement forward.

    1. I think the metaphor is correct.

A slow moving machine of simple technology, moving in a predominantly straight linear path while crushing everything into a smooth homogenous veneer.

  4. What a pleasant thought 4:41 am - my my you are up early. Is Mcblubber paying you to get up early or is your bladder full. - Republicon steamroller: hmm - what comes to mind? Massive machines smoothing out black asphalt? Proceeding with great force? Crushed with steamroller as if to level. A massive intro rabble force that seems to crush everything in its way? Well now - how pleasant 4:41 am - I would wafer that this type of power has been shot down by our latest national and US senate elections. Do the Republicons want to play this way or will they start to see the writing on the wall that will force them to redefine. I'm afraid 4:41 am that this mentality is becoming extinct. As the JS said - ending early voter registration is a sham. Why don't they just come out and say that Walker has has swung even to far for them to the right.
