Hat tips to former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist for his before-and-after highway planning frame and to transportation activist Gretchen Schuldt for the report and maps from WisDOT's not-so-informative informational meeting about I-94 reconstruction and expansion in and near Story Hill and Miller Park:
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation doesn’t have any preliminary or potential I-94 reconstruction / expansion plans available yet for public view, and WisDOT spokeswoman Emlynn Grisar said there should be information on options in three or four months.
Nothing has been decided, according to WisDOT — not whether lanes will be added, not whether any Hawley Rd. ramps will be closed, and not whether any additional land WisDOT wants for freeways near the Story Hill neighborhood will be taken from Miller Park parking lots or elsewhere — like the neighborhood itself.
