DNR Air Quality Alerts Come With Two-Stages Of Delay

First, the DNR, since the early days of the Walker administration last year, ended what had been an early-warning alert that air pollution conditions were building towards the hazardous level.

Secondly, the advisories the DNR does send out via email come with an additional delay. The current advisory says it went into effect at 5:00 p.m. I got my notification at 5:25 p.m. The Journal Sentinel posted it at 5:40 p.m.
