Isn't it amazing that Walker has done it again?
And forfeited one of his major talking points - - that the recall movement and his primary opponents had moved away from collective bargaining, heir original issue.
Well, collective bargaining, as well as Walker's character - - the two are intertwined, given his having withheld the original union-busting scheme until he "dropped the bomb" - - are now front-and-center.
Language like this, especially seen on video - - the medium with sticking power in our culture - - being spoken to one of the wealthiest persons in the state with a large labor force, will do that:
"Any chance we'll ever get to be a completely red state and work on these unions -"
"Oh, yeah," Walker broke in.
"- and become a right-to-work?" Hendricks continued. "What can we do to help you?"
"Well, we're going to start in a couple weeks with our budget adjustment bill," Walker said. "The first step is we're going to deal with collective bargaining for all public employee unions, because you use divide and conquer."
Wonder how those 9000 operating engineers are feeling right now.
