The police union officials salaries are paid by Milwaukee Property taxpayers pursuant to a mandate incorporated in the 1995=97 state budget by then GOP Governor Tommy Thompson.Thompson is/was a close friend of Brad Debraska, then MPA president. Thompson's mandate undid a provision that revoked the taxpayer support of 2 of the 3 MPA officers salaries and benefits. Debraska had Thompson void the contract the MPA had agreed to thus forcing Milwaukee taxpayers to pay the union salaries.
I think that endorsement was balanced by Erpenbach endorsing Barrett -- Erpenbach, with his following, and in Falk's territory. Was I the only one surprised?
And as for Debraska, I will agree that there is, after all, someone deserving of the term "union thug." Ugh.
And the City of Milwaukee keeps paying for the union negoiaters salaries.
ReplyDeleteI suspect if a vote were taken this endorsement would not have happened.
Nothing but puppets for their union presidents.
Being it on!
