The Assembly had to be dragooned to Hurley for a hearing on its sham mining bill after its sham hearing in Milwaukee, but the purportedly more-reasonable [Sic] Sen. Neal Kedzie, (R-Elkhorn), has set up a hearing on his sham bill - - in Platteville - - a half-hour up the road from Dubuque, Iowa in southwestern Wisconsin.
About as far from the Penokee Range and iron-mining territory in far northwestern Wisconsin as you could get. The hearing is at 10 a.m., so people leaving Ashland are on the road at 3 a.m., from Milwaukee at 6 a.m.
Share on Kedzie and his game-playing. Get the recall machinery tuned and oiled.
He probably wants to make a stop in Mineral Point, so he can meditate on the early WI miners (those pasty-fed fellas from Cornwall who got us our nickname of Badger State in the first place - no it is not because our Football team is a tough scrappy bunch of little animals. It's because the guy would dig small holes and crawl in them like badgers)so anyways he probably wants to sit there on Shake Rag Alley and contrast they way those guys mined with the enormously destructive corporate mines of today. I bet that's what's goin' on.
ReplyDeletefyi Travellers should stop at Roelli (pronounced Rah-lee) Cheese Haus near Shullsburg on the way (intersection of 11 and 23 just south of Darlington) I admit this is somewhat out of the way, however - You think you've had cheese curds before, but no...
Shullsburg curds laugh at Milwaukee curds. Haha. This is not your neophyte hipster cheese, this is cheese made by Swiss peoplez who's ancestors came here and haven't moved or changed anything in generations. but really anything you buy there will be good. And there is a wide variety.
Don't they have A mopingyou can go down in. Maybe that's where the hearing will be - concerned citizens getting the shaft.

Oops! Talking to my wife and typing on this small key board at the same time is not a healthy or productive endeavor.
Don't they have a mine you can go tour? Maybe that's where the hearing will be - concerned citizens getting the shaft. A perfect place for the Republicon- damp, dirty and plenty of shadows.
