Texas Governor Rick Perry blew millions in television ads in Iowa, but could not, as they say, "move the needle" with voters who'd seen his performance and wrote him off.
In other words, voters can spot a fake. He got 10% of the vote Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, another conservative Republican Governor, our own Scott Walker, is facing a certain recall election, and like Perry, is spending heavily on television to try and change a lot of minds - - at least 700,000, probably more.
The more Walker spends, the more he will solidify a protest vote against him - - in an election where there is probably an unusually small number of undecideds and a uniquely large bloc of angry activists, across multiple constituencies, lined up against him
Saturating the airwaves with big ad spending will only re-dedicate the 99% to oust what they see as a manipulative and illegitimate 1% - - with Walker its Wisconsin leader.
Walker could be Texas toast.
The bull headed political sociopath must be listening to his wiser alter ego.
ReplyDelete"Scotty - you gonna get your arse kicked right out of Madison if you don't start acting nice and gotta start listening to those money changers and start lying more on TV. You're so good at that lying stuff. Where did you learn to do that so well? I mean Scotty- you don't even swallow hard."
Correct, James. When people see you as an idiot, corrupt, or otherwise unfit for office, there's no amount of ads that'll change minds. In fact, it just serves to piss us off even more, and makes us even more determined to put these losers away.
