The Department of Transportation announced on Friday the reconstruction and widening of the four-mile stretch of I-94 from I-39/90 east to Cottage Grove is done, just in time for the start of the gun deer season on Saturday and Thanksgiving.
The $44 million project was completed a year ahead of the original DOT schedule, thanks to federal stimulus funding.
Will the hunters enjoying the new pavement and lanes east of Madison thank President Barack Obama, then-speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Congress for the speedy, spiffy new ride to the deer stand?
