I can't share your optimism here. Sanity? Probably just political calculation. And not a good sign, really, about the ultimate decision.

Well, buying a year+ opens up all sorts of possibilities. What I like is that the grassroots opposition brought it to a stop.

Not even sure we are "buying a year," on this. I cannot believe that every other action needed to implement this catastrophic project will cease for a year, too much at stake and already invested.
