Glenn Grothman Wants To Stop All This Democracy BS
The Wisconsin recall process has worked nicely for the current regime - - remember that Mark Neumann was involved in trying to recall both Democratic US Senators, and Scott Walker got on the road to the Governorship through a recall election win in 2002 to become Milwaukee County Executive - - but now that Walker is facing great recall energy statewide, West Bend Republican State Senator and Constitutional Rights' Denier Glenn Grothman wants to put a legal crimp in the process.
Recall by citizens in Wisconsin without limitation for cause is a right under the State Constitution.
I'm bold-facing a few words - - those Grothman wants to upend, doing his part over Republican Crybaby Weekend:
Recall of elective officers. SECTION 12. [As created Nov. 1926 and amended April 1981] The qualified electors of the state, of any congressional, judicial or legislative district or of any county may petition for the recall of any incumbent elective officer after the first year of the term for which the incumbent was elected, by filing a petition with the filing officer with whom the nomination petition to the office in the primary is filed, demanding the recall of the incumbent. And the final sub-section:
(7) This section shall be self−executing and mandatory.
Laws may be enacted to facilitate its operation but no law shall be enacted to hamper, restrict or impair the right of recall. [1923 J.R. 73, 1925 J.R. 16, 1925 c. 270, vote Nov. 1926; 1979 J.R. 41, 1981 J.R. 6, vote April 1981]

Uh Glen honey- didn't you see what happened with the latest attempt to change the recall process? There's just that minor obstacle. His first name begins with Dale.Glen sweety- go back to your district and ask for some suggestions on what your constituents really want.
You sneaky guy you.
I am shocked Glen! You sound like such a calm collected man on Sly In The Morning. Did we have a little hissy fit right before Thanksgiving? Sounds like your law is even more punitive than what Old Berlin Mary's looked like? I agree with anonymous- go back to your constiuents and see if they can help you muster up a real jobs bill.
I can't wait to hear Sly converse with you on this one.
Don't you trust us Glen?
The republicans seem to forget that there is a solution in place that covers replacement of an elected official if there is cause based on malfeasance or criminality. It is called impeachment.
Recall is the mechanism that is available to citizens for ejecting an elected official for simply failing to listen to the will of the voters.
Grothman, and Lazich, and the others are interesting in doing Walker's bidding - - they know they are nothing without him - - by throwing up roadblocks to Democrats' traction in the electoral process - - whether it's putting up fake Democrats to run in the Senate recalls to hamstringing registering and voting with the Voter ID bill, and now this scheme to tie up recall petitioning.
I suspect this will fail because people all the way around the political spectrum do not like having their constitutional right of recall trampeled for one party's current advantage.
I'm surprised Senator Grothman (R-Mother's Basement) has the time to gather these ideas from ALEC when he is spending so much time screwing over workers and the middle class.
The most ironic thing is that this hack thinks he knows something about educating kids when he doesn't have any (Thank God) and has never even been married. Hmmmm. Bitter, angry, and wierd, this corporate liar should concentrate on his lack of meaningful relationships before he prattles on about other people's lives.
