WI AG Wants Concealed Carry In Capitol

That is asking for catastrophe. What do the Capitol police think? Van Hollen is pandering to the NRA and Tea Party fringe.

  1. Thanks.

Scot has made an excellent point. Let the AG surrender all his taxpayer supported protections, guards and locked elevators. Then let's see how he likes C&C in the state capital.

I'm a strong defender of the 2nd Amendment, but C&C carries an incredible burden. You have to be SWAT-team proficient in terms of identifying CORRECT targets, and background. It's a lot different when the target shoots back.

Once a C&C draws their weapon, however justified, they expose themselves to fire from law enforcement and others with C&C. The current regs on C&C are abysmally inadequate and will hurt the 2nd Amendment.

  2. Republican legislators are paranoid--my guess is that they want to pack a weapon.

  3. And it's a desperate move by Van Hollen because the NRA is already ripping the DOJ for not allowing every Tom, Dick, and Jane to be able to grab a CC permit with no training. So because Van Hollen is a GOP politician and not an AG, he'll do this random move to leave them at bay.

And that's why we need to accompany this clown with our Walker recall petitions. Like a typical GOP, it's "pass the law first, and worry about consequences second."

  4. And let's recognize that concealed carry in and of itself is a bunch of juvenile cowboy nonsense; while it may not be harmful, it is certainly not necessary and is pushed by people who lug around a lot of other highly predictable ideas and prejudices. This state and country have gone stark raving nuts.

  5. So Van Hollen wants to allow guns in the Capitol building. How does he feel about bricks and pitchforks?

  6. The CC law will essentially be neutered for just about every government building and most busineses.

This statement appeared to come form nowhere. Who wants to do an open records request for any NRA communications with JB.

    Is it his call?

Let the wingnuts and Walker approve CC in the capital. Think about all parents of middle school children who will worry about some nut pulling his weapon out and start shooting at the defenseless childrenn and teachers.
Looks like JB has opened a can of worms that will soon be fantastic fodder for the recall of the political sociopath.

  7. Seems like the only violent ones are the ones affilated with the wall street protest.

  8. The irony is not lost on me. Politicians in Madison were having problems with protestors bringing ballons, T-shirts with slogans, video recorders and bongos to the Captiol.

    But guns?.....Hey. No problemo. huh?

    WTF, The world's gone mad.
