The Waukesha Common Council twice rejected a seat on its water negotiating team for the Mayor, and didn't offer one to the Town of Waukesha when it expressed an interest, but now the three-person, all-bureaucrat group already has an opening even before water purchase negotiations had begun with the resignation from government of City Administrator Lori Luther.
The team will meet with officials in Milwaukee, Racine and Oak Creek as Waukesha to find a willing seller of Lake Michigan water.
There was a public tiff with newly-elected Mayor Jeff Scrima last year over her supervision (with water policy-making a factor, too).
Luther later sought positions outside Waukesha and landed a county administrator job, qith a 30% pay raise, in Peoria, Illinois.
You can't apply for a Lake Michigan diversion in Peoria County Ill.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon 11:02 pm: Peoria cannot legally apply now, but once Waukesha's crappy application gets WiDNR approval and the seven other Great Lakes governors' approvals, then slam, bang a few lawsuits and Voila! Lake Michigan water everywhere but Lake Michigan.
