“The average citizen in Wisconsin I talk to, it’s like they’ve had it … it’s not something they’re particularly interested in.”And further tells the Journal Sentinel from his vantage point in a parallel universe that he's not responsible for the uproar in the state.
Walker told the Journal Sentinel he rejected the notion that he is to blame for “polarizing” the political climate in Wisconsin.I guess he forgot an earlier interview with the paper when he said:
"I think it’s pretty clear that you have two very different worlds in this state. You have a world driven by Madison and a world driven by everybody else in the state of Wisconsin," Walker said. And about no one caring about the recalls - - then why is his party running fake opponents in the recall elections?
Translation: Walker knows he screwed up, and knows he's responsible for recall elections that put his Senate majority and allies at risk.
“I’m a teacher. To be honest, I feel you have no respect for schools,” one woman who declined to give her name told Walker.
ReplyDelete“I'm sorry, lady, but I just can't believe you are capable of thinking for yourself.” the governor said.
(from gnarlytrombone's linked article):
ReplyDelete“We’re … making sure there’s nothing in there that surprises us,” [Governor Walker] said. “There’s a lot of things we need to look at the details on.”
... because we insisted on passing this thing in extraordinary session...
Thank you for bringing up the post-SC election quote, which was a direct slap in the face to about 550,000 Kloppenburg voters. This is another slap to around 180,000.
ReplyDeleteAnd if right-wing talk radio has taught you anything (and it's the only language Scotty can really speak), if those guys are diminishing something that opposes them, THEY'RE SCARED TO DEATH OF IT.
Sorry Scotty, but to paraphrase Sen. Blutarsky, "nothing in this battle is over until WE decide it is." And we ain't deciding to go away until we put him away....Nah, not even then.
Who is the average citizen Walker? Are those the citizens you arrange to listen to your rhetoric while hundreds of protestors are outside your controlled environment?
ReplyDeleteLosing a senate seat or two vs. eliminating the public employee unions, conceal carry and a sound balanced budget?
ReplyDeleteI'll take that pawn for rook trade any day of the week.
Even if the recalls flip the senate, for all that was accomplished so far it will be worth it.
However, don't fear because the senate will not be flipped. It is a win-win for the republicans!
To paraphrase Ronald's Disciple: "Walker's Senators are pawns."
ReplyDeleteWe knew that already.
