Wisconsin's Brush With Clinic Shootings Should Stop The Concealed Carry Bandwagon
For gun-crazy legislators trying to make it as easy to carry a concealed weapon in Wisconsin as a wallet, the fortuitous capture of a man admitting his murderous intentions should be a major, major teachable moment.
The gun lobby's answer is that the nurses and doctors ought to be packing heat, too.
Forgive me for getting all Modest Proposal here, but the right wingers have no problem curtailing the right to vote, the right to organize, and the right to legal redress because we pesky liberals make use of them. It may well be that the only way there will ever be any gun control again would be if the liberals, pro-choicers, environmentalists, unions, gays, etc. started shooting up the place to get our way.
There might at least be a photo ID requirement to carry a gun, anyway.
The teachable moment is that this guy was going to commit these crimes regardless of whether we have a conceal carry law or not.
ReplyDeleteTrying to use this deranged man's criminal mind and link it to proposed conceal carry legislation is simply absurd.
What he was going to do has nothing to do with conceal carry whatsoever.
The gun lobby's answer is that the nurses and doctors ought to be packing heat, too.
