It's audacious beyond belief that Don Pridemore, the Republican legislator promoting the "Stop The Voting" bill, [my label] represents a big piece of Waukesha County, (Merton, Sussex, Lannon). whose dysfunctional election 'procedures' earlier this month set off a statewide recount and triggered an investigation by the Government Accountability Board.
Why don't elected officials representing Waukesha County get that house in order before conning the electorate over phantom voter fraud and manipulating voting rights to tilt outcomes in the GOP's favor?
I like the direction you're going with the name "Stop The Voting" Bill. I've been beginning to think that the name Voter Distraction Bill isn't powerful enough, and I've been thinking of using Voter Suppression Bill instead.

(I'm sorry if this is a duplicate.)

Watched the hearing today. Pridemore was incredibly ignorant about his own bill.
ReplyDeleteHe repeatedly said that students could still vote in presidential elections without a Wisconsin ID (a claim that's obnoxious in and of itself, as if no student cared about local politics). He was corrected by Democratic legislators: the bill would outlaw votes in all races.
He was so obnoxious during the hearing today. He kept questioning citizens about how difficult it was going to be for them personally to obtain an ID. He was not interested in listening to the effects this bill would have speaker's constituencies.

ReplyDeleteStop The Voting Bill? Is this the bill to make Gwen Moore's son an election official?
