It's amusing to watch Scott Walker whiff at a Capitol Hill appearance when hard balls come his way, not the soft balls he'd enjoyed when local talk radio hosts 'interviewed' him as County Exec.
Media critic Tim Cuprisin in his OnMilwaukee.com column today presciently had tackled the issue of Walker, out-of-the-cocoon.
he said it's "100% correct" that he felt people should not have been surprised by what he did. yet in speaking with the phone prankster, he referred to "dropping the bomb." barry bonds' testimony that led to his conviction was less misleading. seriously, are charges of lying to congress warranted?
ReplyDeleteI can't help but notice that Walker almost never appears in front of audiences that haven't been pre-selected to be friendly. (This committee appearance was *supposed* to be friendly, since the Republicans control the House of Representatives, but they couldn't manage to lock the Democrats out of the Capitol.)
ReplyDeleteIn this way, he's a lot like George W. Bush -- only not as smart and less charismatic.
