I went to the Stevens Point hearing and am glad I did. One person spoke in support of the budget bill but her testimony was tempered by her support of public services. No one booed her or made any comment about what she said. Whatever is said, becomes part of the public record and is recorded by Wisconsineye. It is important in that context to have people voice opposition to the bill. I know the committee members weren't listening - especially Grothman who was texting and wandering the entire time - but hearing small business owners, corporate CEOs, students, retired teachers, librarians and those dependent on medicare all voicing opposition makes me more determined to fight a budget bill that does not have the support of many Wisconsin citizens.
