One Waukesha-Area Community Says OK To Lake Michigan Water Diversion Map; Another Could Decide Thursday

When last we checked into the Waukesha water diversion issue, we learned that the Town of Genesee decided it wanted to be included in the official diversion service territory map which the City of Waukesha has included in its diversion application.

And the larger Town of Waukesha will take up the issue at a board meeting Thursday.

The towns were included in the map - - making them eligible for water down the road should the City's Lake Michigan diversion application be approved - - without their approval.

The map was drawn up by the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, which, like the City, did not consult with the Towns before it was created.
