Larson Provides Information About State Budget Cuts Aimed Across Milwaukee County

Wisconsin State Sen. Chris Larson, (D), has posted links to state Legislative Fiscal Bureau budget documents  that document the preliminary impact of proposed State budget cuts - - from police to parks to pothole patching - - on Milwaukee city and county services. From his helpful recent e-newsletter:
"State aid to Milwaukee County and the municipalities within it will face a drastic cut of $22,964,131 under this governor's budget. This means less money for public safety measures such as police and fire, reduced funds for our local parks and possible layoffs. To view the relevant LFB memo, please CLICK HERE.

"Local communities will also have to endure cuts to their state transportation aid fund. Milwaukee County and its municipalities alone will suffer a loss of $7,082,264 to fund road and public transportation projects. This may reduce the number of operational bus routes and prevent repairs on streets where construction has become a necessity. CLICK HERE for more information on this provision of the budget."
