This is getting disgusting, and will worsen. The bottom line is, even if the Democrats (and it now seems doubtful) can get some more "we look good by comparison"* stuff off this UGLY situation, the bottom line is... Rupert Murdock and all his sock puppets are going to be able to add this to THEIR bottom line. Keeping the pot stirred and playing victim to bossy Ma Socialism and her henchmen is an art form for them. IMHO this is now a no-win situation for anyone but Fox. If this hurts Palin at all, Murdock will just find another media star, like Disney keeps cranking out those screwed up Teen stars.
This is a topic worthy of "national debate" of course, but Murdoch's steering the ship and unfortunately any attempts by people to actually HAVE that discussion will just mean they all end up working for Rupert for free. Game over, he wins.
*(don't mistake that I consider that to be that actual goal, the real goal is to get destructive behavior to stop. it's now pretty obvious that is NOT going to happen.)
When Palin first came on to the national political scene, I thought she was a refreshing addition – a bit of a maverick for lack of a better term.
Any developing alliance quickly withered away when she resigned as governor of Alaska. In 2012, if she is the Republican presidential candidate, I won’t vote even if it means Obama, who I believe is dreadful, wins a second term. Palin’s selection by the Republican party would be a bigger failure.
