WisDOT is going to build a new I-43 interchange to funnel traffic closer to the Kohler Company's Whistling Straits golf course in Sheboygan County to accommodate the occasional major tournament.
Now that
Erin Hills is in line for the US Open in 2017, does that mean special road-building in the Kettle Moraine near the Washington County course?
Probably not since the 2 primary roadways one would use to get to Erin Hills from the general Milwaukee area, 167 and 83, already have interchanges on US-41/45 and I-94 respectively.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should build a rail line out Erin Hills, I am sure you would get 100% behind that James.
We'll see about needed road 'improvements.'
ReplyDeleteA rail line would be too logical.
A rail line would be too idiotic.
ReplyDeleteSeriously James, is there a rail project you would not support?
anon jim- you're a one man "rail" line.
ReplyDeleteNow that I think about it, wonder if Obama will catch a round at Erin Hills?
ReplyDeleteSince the Deepwater Horizon disaster occurred on April 20th and his Oval Office speech Tuesday night, Mr. Obama had played golf on 8 separate occasions including this last weekend.
So apparently this national tragedy has not affected his weekly golf outing.
The question now is, will James post this fact or find some self-rationalized reason to censor it?

ReplyDeleteAs you know, Anon Jim, I post nearly all your comments. But it is up to me, I can close it off entirely, and whether I do or not is hardly censorship.
ReplyDeleteYour predictable Republican/Tea Party/talk radio talking points or anti-progressive snipes hitch a free ride here often, so any complaints or faux outrage you have about my blog or how I might choose to operate it fall on my deaf ears.
You are always free to create your own blog or give your comments more validity by coming out of the shadows and being an authentic, identified person.
As you know James, that is what makes censorship so powerful.
ReplyDelete“Anon Jim” could suddenly disappear form your blog one day and those who frequent it would never know if I fell off the face of the earth or if you simply decided to no longer post any of my comments.
And I readily admit you do post “almost” all of my comments although of late one or two involving criticism of Mayor Barrett seem to have been deemed unacceptable.
As far as my identity goes, not sure why you are so bothered by that and saying who I am would make no difference since I am not anyone you would have ever heard of.
Anon Jim: You worry that if your comments go away people might wonder what happened to you.
ReplyDeleteDon't you get it? Because you are anonymous, there is really no "you" here. Names are basic to identity, thus authenticity. You could be a group, an ever-changing merry-go-round of writers,
So there is no Anon Jim.
And you are the one committing an act of censorship by posting comments anonymously.
Am not “worried” James, was just making an observation.
ReplyDeleteAnd I fully realize you and most of the people visiting your blog would welcome my absence.
That I might be a group of writers, which is obviously a possibility, but it is a scenario I had not expected you to think of.
And I suppose I could even take it as a compliment that you think I am actually some kind of right wing conspiracy group.
So anyone commenting on your blog without being specifically revealing their identity is committing a form of censorship?
That one I will have to mull over.
