If Tommy Does Not Run...

And I will not say too loudly "I told you so," then we must collectively ask: What the heck was that all about?

I am old enough to remember when Willie Mays had a great arm, but at the end, he had to toss the ball from the deep outfield to another outfielder who could heave the ball all the way into the infield.

Athletes, and politicians, have trouble knowing when it's time to leave the field.

  1. One has to wonder then James, if you seriously thought Thompson would not run, why have you been endlessly trashing Tommy like he was actually going to be a candidate?

Could it be that you are very hyper-sensitive about anyone of any level of substance running against your precious Russy Feingold?

As I commented on your posting back on 02/03/2010, "you doth protest too much".

  2. Trashing, no. Quoting his record, yes.

  3. As a Democrat and life long fan of Tommy Thompson I hope he runs. And loses.
I am a fan in the same way I like to watch Kate Gosselin on Dancing With The Stars. It's so awful it's almost endearing. Just like Tommy's many ham-fisted political moves since he left office as Governor.

  6. The best thing about Tommy Thompson is this: you never have to trash him. Stick him in front of a reporter or a camera and he does it to himself.

    Whallah!

  7. As an independent who attended the tea party I was relieved that Tommy chose not to run. This would just show the desperation of trying to find a viable candidate to run against Mr. Feingold. The boos may have out numbered the cheers. That would have been embarrassing---but great TV.
