Fare Hikes Drain Milwaukee Bus Ridership, Data Show

Thanks to a Ph.D candidate at UW-M, we now have data to explain the relationship between fare increases and ridership decline at the dying Milwaukee County Transit system.

County Exec and gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker had blamed the economy - - which is a factor - - but pointed the finger and shifted the responsibility away from his fare hikes.

Transit for people without cars in Milwaukee County is probably not on the menu for Walker and Co. when driving across the state from town-to-town, steakhouse-to-supperclub, in search of votes, donations and fine dining..
