Vicki McKenna, Belling Lite

1130 WISN-AM right-wing talker Mark Belling is on vacation, so in for our entertainment today stepped guest host Vicki McKenna.

For the uninitiated, she's the regular late morning 1130 talker based in Madison who is sandwiched in between the ever-grumpy early morning righty talker Jay Weber, and the GOP's new party leader, the self-proclaimed El Rushbo hisself.

(Later in the day, following Belling, 1130 dishes up Sean Hannity - - and this, mind you, is on the region's mere #2 AM station (AM620 WTMJ, the home of C. Sykes/J. Wagner et al being #1. Before I digress too far, forget WISN for a moment - - I'll get back to there in a second - - but does AM620 WTMJ and Journal Communications management understand or care that many Brewer and Packer fans have been driven away because not everyone wants a daily dose - - measured in hours - - of rightwing anger and spin before their sports?)

Anyway: Back to McKenna.

Part of her second hour discussion was devoted to Obama-the-socialist - - you know, that goofy and shallow GOP talking propagandistic talking point making the rounds.

Not to be outdone, McKenna said she believed Obama to be "a commie."

Belling's on his annual cruise.

McKenna's on another planet - - where more and more of the far-right find themselves orbiting.

  1. Belling is actually a fairly shy person away from the mike and rarely does he get up in front on large groups, especially those carrying eggs.

Well, since you said right before this that they are #1 in the market, I would suppose that they are fine with it.

I'm sure this is a foreign concept for a government dependant like yourself, but you become #1 in business by giving your customers what they want. In the case of Journal Communications, the newspaper is dying even with a monoply. AM620 continues to be strong, even with competition.

  3. If WISN radio had tax monies to use for broadcasting, ala NPR, perhaps they, too, could bore people away from radio altogether. The only reason that AM radio makes the cut at all is because there are alot of people passionate about their American, God given (and I know you don't believe that), INDIVIDUAL freedoms that a totalitarian, Left wing nanny-state gov. would like to take away. Where would their voice be heard, if not on Right wing (that's what we are) talk radio? I don't think if it were up to you that talk radio would be allowed to exist except in the boring leftist commie crud from NPR, air-head radio (which failed and is failing). Pardon my rant, but "hate" for people and their ideas comes alot more from the left. They hate freedom. They hate the people that want freedom. I'm not talking about made-up freedoms, but USA constitutional freedoms that keep the gov. out of we the people's way. There's so much more to be said, but it is being said on talk radio which is why the left want's it banned. Thank God in heaven for the 1st ammendment rights!!!
