Biomass Replacing Coal At UW Power Plant

Gov. Jim Doyle's announcement that biomass will be substituted for coal at the Charter St. UW-Madison power plant is great news for Dane County residents.

Removing coal as the plant's fuel will produce far cleaner air and water, and achieve a significant reduction of greenhouse gases from Wisconsin sources.

Environmental groups' pressure set the process in motion.
