After having recently returned from a 10 day trip to India, I cannot tell you how grateful I am that we have "bubblers" as an option here. People need to realize that bottled water should only be consumed if the drinking water is unsafe. And if they think it's "unsafe" here, I dare them to go drink it elsewhere.
The Milwaukee Water Works would be smart to give away reusable water bottles to its customers as a way to sell more tap water and promote its excellent product. 4 gallons of tap water only costs about a penny. Compare that to the cost of bottled water in the store.
To Meghan...Bottled water is one of the silliest fads to come along in years. I think the crumbling economy will dry up the market.
To Anon; I don't the Milwaukee Water Works is interested. It is in the bottled water business, you know, selling water to Coke for Dasani labeling at the Silver Spring Dr. plant.
It is also a shame that only 23% of water bottles, once used, get recycled. Usually people won't recycle due to being in public places where it is inconvenient. With 3,250,000 water bottles being used every hour in America, I think this issue of reducing our need for bottled water and recycling bottles when they are needed is very important.
