The Jude cops figure out a way to extend their unwanted stay on the city payroll.
Thanks to a special law adopted by the legislature just for Milwaukee, convicted cops stay on the payroll until all appeals are exhausted.
Other cities can bounce them much earlier, but the police union pushed through the law, donating to many out-of-city legislators' campaign committees.
The best chance of repealing the law died when GOP Assembly Speaker John Gard, a police-union financed candidate for Congress, dumped the bill into committee, where it died.
The legislature has to repeal this law. It's discriminatory, illogical and wasteful.
