Most of the stores of Grand Avenue are empty, empty land is all over the place, and rent is still high. The city keeps rent high because it is trying to get the most that it can from the few renters left. It will not bring business since property tax and rent is not coming down. Grand Avenue is the prime example of why business leaves the downtown. Mass transit is not the answer.DHnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621691715090523319.post-51882183377523161712013-05-11T10:44:17.364-05:002013-05-11T10:44:17.364-05:00Because the history of urban planning and developm...Because the history of urban planning and development in the United States is littered with bad ideas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621691715090523319.post-22892578070971301402013-05-11T10:07:35.188-05:002013-05-11T10:07:35.188-05:00Streetcar systems across the country were ripped o...Streetcar systems across the country were ripped out for buses - - thanks to GM, Standard Oil and Firestone - - http://www.lovearth.net/gmdeliberatelydestroyed.htmJames Rowenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10203270946492159686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621691715090523319.post-44151332352012986662013-05-11T09:53:45.040-05:002013-05-11T09:53:45.040-05:00Anonymous, if they're such a bad idea, why are...Anonymous, if they're such a bad idea, why are Milwaukee's discarded streetcars still running in cities like Zagreb, Croatia?
