We have 2% of the country's population, and we are one of 50 states, and Walker says we own 50% of last month's new jobs nationally?
Does the state now count baby sitting, dog walking, lawn mowing and Facebooking as "work."
I smell something burning and I think it's numbers cooking.
What defies logic is the $1.3 Billion we lost on the Chrysler bailout.
ReplyDeleteOf course the hypocrit Rowan is silent on this as he previouisly crowed about all the money we were going to make and especially since the Dems own this collosal waste of our tax dollars.
How much you want to bet there will be an "oops! we made a math error" moment on August 10? Do you think they're using the Waukesha County clerk computers to calculate those big job gains?
ReplyDeleteYeah - I saw something about this. Seems like Walker math to me.
ReplyDeleteIf you read this artice, http://uppitywis.org/blogarticle/walkers-bogus-job-creation-numbers-just-dont-add, you can see that according to Scott Walkers numbers, 3 states out of 47 are responsible for 110% of the June job growth.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I cannot stand the hard left and the hard right. Here we have good news for Wisconsin and you left wing nut bags have to make fun of Walker.
ReplyDeleteTo anony: 2:37 p.m. You have to remember that Walker already dismissed his first Workforce Development Secretary and took credit for jobs the previous administration had already announced - - http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/noquarter/120582079.html - - so some caution is in order.
ReplyDeleteHow is it good news for Wisconsin, if the math doesn't add up.
ReplyDeleteAnon: "The U.S. government recovered $11.2 billion of the $12.5 billion it loaned to Chrysler under Washington’s multibillion dollar rescue of the American car industry."
ReplyDelete+ saved over a million jobs,
" the $1.3-billion loss is small compared to the original estimate in 2009 by the Congressional Budget Office that the government’s losses on the bailout would reach $40 billion."
I suppose we could have let it fail but this is way off topic. What about that Walker Math.
Here's the new BLS regional report and here's Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteThe 9,500 increase is valid (at least until its revised), but the half of all jobs in the country claim is obviously insane.
To my untrained eye, it looks like the jobs outlook improved slightly if you go by raw numbers but the quality and sustainability of those jobs are questionable. And as Professor Rosen says over at Xoff's place, there's no evidence that Walker's policies had any impact.
24 states LOST jobs in June, leaving the nation as a whole with a net increase of 18,000. Wisconsin's increase of 9,500 is equivalent to half the nation's job increase.
ReplyDelete24 states LOST jobs in June
ReplyDeleteAnd 26 gained jobs in June, with five states having increases anywhere from 1,000 (Massachusetts) to 32,000 (Texas) more than Wisconsin.
Today is Sunday and I can't believe it actually happened. If the commenter above is the real Dave Blaska, an actual comment made without personally ridiculing an individual and laughing at facts presented to him, as happened this Friday past in his appearance on Joy Cardin's talk show.
ReplyDeleteThe real Dave should consider following the Ann Althouse lead regarding public radio guest appearances.
Where's the Isthmus headline when it is needed? This is real news.
