As a result the state of Indiana get 3 billion in its coffers and does not have to maintain the ITR.

So to answer your question yes I WOULD be in favor of getting the State of Wisconsin out of the roads business, and into the hands of a private firm.

Do I believe that will happen? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Because the transportation fund is the first thing that Jim Doyle runs too when he needs State Budget money.-

Which actually brings me to another point, do people NOT realize that mass transit funding (at least from the State)comes from the Transportation fund?
Why do I never hear people bitching about that? The Mass transit advocates should be LIVID about that!!!!!

And as far as me raising hell about billions and billions of my tax dollars being used to widen the highways, the answer is:
HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!
And thats only because my Dump Truck supplies many of the companies who provide products and services to the road builders, so in effect I am getting those tax dollars returned to me.

So with out the road builders I and those who sub-contract with them, I would be out of business.

Michael J. Are you raising hell about the billions upon billions of tax dollars going to building wider highways and bigger interchanges, too?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621691715090523319.post-32985253101654119992008-09-21T17:55:00.000-05:002008-09-21T17:55:00.000-05:00I have read the complaint and it is impossible to ...I have read the complaint and it is impossible to believe that there is no race component: I say that because each and every issue has one way or another something to do with the City of Milwaukee, which we both know is mostly populated by minorities.

Every time a Politician or ex cabinet member of a politician says its about equality it ends up being about race. -That is based on past observations-

The only other way to look at it is that you are upset that Milwaukee isn't getting more federal money. Yes Milwaukee should be getting more Transit money. However why must it be at the expense of rebuilding an aging Interstate System?

Like it or not people still do rely on their cars and do not want to be forced onto mass transit.

I own a trucking company that supplies materials to Construction companies and concrete companies, their materials can't exactly get from the Gravel pits in WaukCo, into MilCO, JeffCo, or WashCO, without using the interstate system.

You and Gretchen Schuldt's (?) whole reason for being politically active appears to be Roads Bad, People who build roads bad, and Mass transit for all.

I agree that mass transit has a place in society and am absolutely willing to concede that.

However I also believe that like any other business proposition that it should be self supporting, not entirely governmentally funded.Michael J.
