UPDATE: Mining bill 'author' Honadel says he won't be working for Gogenic

UPDATE: Rebecca Kemble of The Progressive posts on Facebook:

I just spoke with Mark Honadel at the Capitol. He says he is not working for GTac and has no plans to do so.
Maybe he's going to work for Clean Wisconsin. -- Xoff.  I regret the error. That will teach Rowen for trusting me with access.

ORIGINAL POST:  The revolving door didn't even finish a full rotation.

Mark Honadel, the Republican state rep who "authored" the mining bill giveaway actually written by the mining company, resigned his seat the other day for a "private sector" opportunity.

State Rep. Chris Sinicki says on Facebook she has confirmed that Honadel's new job is lobbyist for Gogebic Taconite, the mining company.

Zach Wisniewski had predicted as much on Blogging Blue.

Congratulations, Wisconsin. You can no longer cast aspersions at Illinois.

Honadel did not represent his district, he held a seat and represented WMC, ALEC, the mining company et al. Now he will be paid for doing what he was doing all along.

He did represent who he considered his constituents - isn't Bucyrus/Caterpillar in his district? Gotta keep business happy so they create 250,000 jobs...oh wait, they just laid off a bunch of people after Honadel rammed that bill through. So much for that theory.

He's denying it now

If he's denying it, maybe he should quit being so mysterious and tell us where he is going to work. Someplace equally bad, or worse?

Exactly, Honadel should name the "great private sector opportunity" he's taking. Or else I'll just assume Scott Suder and Jeff Fitzgerald-style "revolving door" sketchiness.

Keep up the heat on this scum
