The heat advisory, earlier projected to end Friday, now goes for at least another day:

URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE 319 PM CDT FRI JUL 6 2012 ...HISTORIC HEAT WAVE TO CONTINUE... .THE HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS OF THE PAST FEW DAYS WILL CONTINUE FOR ALL OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN THROUGH TONIGHT WITH PARTS OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN SEEING MORE DANGEROUS HEAT INTO SATURDAY.
HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB TO THE UPPER 90S TO LOWER 100S OVER SOUTH CENTRAL AND INLAND PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN. AN ONSHORE BREEZE WILL KEEP LAKE SHORE AREAS A FEW DEGREES COOLER TODAY...
WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE 90S. HIGHEST HEAT INDEX READINGS WILL BE BETWEEN 100 AND 110 ACROSS MOST INLAND AREAS WITH 95 TO 105 NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN. DUE TO THE EXTENDED PERIOD OF HEAT...WHICH HAS REACHED FIVE DAYS TODAY...
